Hello! My name is Melissa Vanderpool and I am located in sunny San Diego. I will be graduating from Grossmont College on June 9, 2022 with an Associates of Science in Cardiovascular Technology. I am currently RDCS eligible and scheduled for my registry exam on June 1, 2022. My interest in healthcare began at a young age, with both of my parents being Registered Nurses. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant after graduating high school, and then went on to serve in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 6 years. Throughout my duration in the Navy, I applied my Corpsman skills in both ship-board and hospital based medical care. While in the Navy, I discovered the field of Cardiovascular Technology. After observing echocardiograms and the personalized level of patient care involved, I knew that was my passion. As I approach the completion of my education, I am grateful for my experiences and am optimistic for my future career. I am looking forward to implementing my capabilities that I have acquired as a cardiac sonographer.
